Alice “Probably a Robot” Smith is a Film Studies major and lowly clerk at the nation’s last DVD store. Her favorite flicks are sci-fis about robots who have no idea what they are, and after countless re-watchings she’s started to wonder if maybe they’re not just stories… Sure Alice looks human but that just means her makers were really, really good, right?

    Welcome to the Last DVD Store on Earth

    It was Friday night. Once again, I was spending it resentfully stealing handfuls of greasy popcorn from the snack case and half-watching old sci fi on the store screen. After working for 14 hours and counting, the only things keeping me on my feet were Butter n’ Cheddar Jumbo Pop Popcorn, Blade Runner, and the firm knowledge that the Tyrant could fire me in a second.
